Fire Chomp

Fire Chomps (or Flame Chomps) are enemies that resemble Chain Chomps but differ in several ways. They have the ability to fly and shoot fireballs at Mario, Luigi and Yoshi. They appear in several levels of New Super Mario Bros. Wii where they shoot fireballs at Mario and his friends.

Fire Chomps can be defeated by shooting fireballs at them or stomping on them. They can also be frozen with iceballs which can be used as platforms to crossing large gaps or for gaining a bit of extra height.

In New Super Mario Bros. U, there is only one Fire Chomp in the whole game, it is found in a secret area guarding the level's final Star Coin. This Fire Chomp behaves in the same way as any standard Fire Chomp, Mario can stomp it's head to reach the Star Coin.
