Fire Melon is a type of fruit found in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. They appear similar to Watermelons, only they are red. If Yoshi or another color in the Yoshi (species) swallows a fire melon, he is able to breathe three bursts of fire. The fire can kill near any enemy (except fire based enemies). Fire melons can also be used to melt blocks of ice, as shown in the snow world. The name fire melon is a play on the word watermelon, as it's made of fire. It's similar to Watermelon and Ice Melon. In Yoshi's Woolly World, Fire Melons can be found in the first and seventh levels of World 5.
